Jesus Lived Contemporary

Jesus lived contemporary with the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the Herodians, all religious power structures with their own peculiar doctrines, but He never joined Himself to any of them. He not only carried on His ministry apart from them but denounced the errors of their doctrine and their hypocrisy. Apparently Jesus nor His disciples were ecumenical in their beliefs. If Jesus would have followed the modern Charismatic teaching, He would have fraternized with all of the religious men of His day on the premise that, We all believe in God and therefore we are brethren. Was there ever a man who lived among us that loved as Jesus loved? None! It proves that agape love does not mean we must join hands with heretics, false teachers, cultists, religious eggheads and hold hands swaying back and forth singing, “Come, Holy Spirit.” Christians born of God’s Spirit do have His love in their hearts but they do not believe God’s love is mush and gush. As holiness people we are accused of being ignorant and behind the times. That may be so, and we know we are not perfect, but we know better than to join hands with heretics and identify with those who worship idols. As Christians we are first Separatists from those who worship God contrary to His Word. Romans 16:17-18. If Jesus had been an ecumenist, He would have never been crucified by the Jews and Romans.  It’s better to be divided by truth than united with error. 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1.
